A. Use a “Modifier” function to fix it.
In some third-party sound sets the value for reverb send is too high. The reverb is too much because KQ Sampei processes as is.
- Open Sound Set Manager.
- Select your sound set.
- Tap “Modifier”.
- Select “Soft Pedal and Reverb Fix”.
- If you want to edit more, tap “Edit” and you can edit it.

Q. I want to assign a velocity to a controller.
A. It is available if you use a “Modifier” function. But I don’t recommend it.
You can edit almost all parameters of the sound set by using a modifier function. For example, you can change the pitch and resonance with the velocity. In this case, however, the on-screen controls are not applied.
To master the modifier function, you must be familiar with the parameters of the SoundFont. For more information, please search the Internet for SoundFont specifications and read them.
Q. I want to switch presets using the lowest key on the keyboard.
A. This is possible using the MIDI filter function and program map function.
- From “MIDI” and “Edit Program Map”, enable “Change Preset (MIDI In)”.
- Make sure the map is set to “Preset” and assign presets to each program.
- Click “Apply” and close the window.
- From “MIDI” and “Edit Remap Table”, click “Add an Item”.
- Press “Detect MIDI Signals” and press the key on the keyboard you want to assign.
- Set the destination to “Program Change” and set both the minimum and maximum values of the destination value range to the program number.
- Click “Apply” and close the window.
